Almost Half Way There!

We are excited to share that the morning sickness has mostly passed and Jacklyn has been keeping food down again! Thank you so much for praying faithfully for us through this time - we cannot fully express how deeply this has encouraged us. Please pray for continued strength and endurance through the rest of the pregnancy and what it may bring. The boys are continuing to do well in their classes and recently celebrated their 2nd and 4th birthdays!

In the month of October we went through a “webfast” for our worldview class. During this time we were not allowed to use the internet or text messaging and successfully proved that the internet is not the source of life giving oxygen :-). This refreshing time of minimal distractions and more relational investments has left us with much to work through as we consider how this insight impacts our family values.

Since we last wrote, we’ve completed our worldview class and taken a number of other classes, including a marriage, parenting, New Testament church principles, and a culture introduction class.  We are currently in a class introducing New Tribes' Foundational Bible Teaching program. So much to learn and take in – but they have all been really insightful!

Whew, being full time students while having a family has been hard! It is so important to us that we glean as much as possible from these classes, yet God has given us additional priorities that we are learning we must be careful to balance. Pray for us! Pray for wisdom with each choice as we strive to maintain our family and other priorities while we steward the education He is providing for us here!

We hope to give you a few little class snippets in future posts, but for now, we just wanted to give you a brief update on how we are doing.

Thank you for your prayers! We are so thankful for YOU!

Please continue to pray:

  • That we can stay focused, absorb the class material well and balance our priorities wisely.
  • Thank you for praying for our health! Even with the tight community and many germs, we have managed to not miss class too often.
  • Please pray for wisdom to shepherd our children well.
  • Please pray that we will cling to the Lord and seek Him first especially on weary days.

It's inspiring how you all are balancing your studies, family life, and faith.
